I thought others on this newsgroup would also be interested in this information. If anyone else has more information on this subject, or has a copy of the UFO Magazine article mentioned, I would very much like to hear from you. --davistm) Dear Glenn, Just read the latest issue of the Rat and saw where you asked for more information about the "Executive Briefing Document" you found on Usenet. I'm probably not the first to tell you this, but here goes - In his book "Alien Contact", Timothy Good refers to that exact document (p. 117-121). Not knowing if you have a copy handy (you should - it has three chapters devoted to Area 51 & Bob Lazar), I'll briefly summarize what Good says. Allegedly, Bill Cooper was shown this document by an anonymous source in 1978. The source only allowed Cooper to study the document for 19 minutes, during which time Cooper read the document into a tape recorder (noting numerous misspellings). He also tried to take photographs of it, but the photos didn't come out well. Below is what Good printed in his book of the document (he didn't include the whole thing). Note there are NO deletions ...and the items deleted in the copy posted on Usenet would appear to be very sensitive information. ---begin text copy--- [From page 1] (TS/ORCON) (PROWORD: DANCE). Contains 16 volumes of documented information collected from the beginning of the United States' Investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and Identified Alien Crafts (IAC). The Project was originally established in 1953, by order of President Eisenhower, under control of NSC and MJ12. In 1960, the Project's name was changed from Project Gleem to Project Aquarius. The Project was funded by CIA confidential funds (non-appropriated). The Project was originally classified SECRET but was upgraded to its present classification in Dec 1969 after Project Blue Book was closed. The purpose of Project Aquarius was to collect all scientific, technological, medical and inteligence [sic] information from UFO/IAC sightings and contacts with alien life forms. This orderly file of collected information has been used to advance the United States' Space Program... [From page 2] In late 1949 another Alien aircraft crashed in the United States and was recovered partly intact by the military. One Alien . . .survived the crash. The surviving alien [called EBE] was male and . . . was thoroughly interrogated by military intelligence personnel at a base in New Mexico. The Alien's language was translated by means of picturegraphs. It was learned the Alien came from a planet in the Zeta Reticula star system . . . EBE lived until Jun 18, 1952, when he died [of] an unexplained illness. During the time period he was alive, he provided valuable information regarding space technology, origins of the Universe, and exobiological matters . . . [From page 4] (TS/ORCON). In 1958, the United States recovered a third Alien aircraft from the desert of Utah. The aircraft was in excellent flying condition . . . apparently abandoned by the Aliens for some unexplainable reason, since on Alien life forms were found in or around the aircraft. The aircraft was considered a technological marvel by United States scientists. However, the operating instrumentation of the aircraft were [sic] so complex that our scientists could not interpret their operation. The aircraft was stored in a top security area and analyzed throughout the years by our best aerospace scientists. The United States gained a large volume of technological data from the recovered Alien aircraft . . . [From page 8] . . . it was estimated the Alien's technology was many thousands of years ahead of United States technology. Our scientists speculate that until our technology develops to a level equal to the Aliens, we cannot understand the large volume of scientific information the United States has already gained from the Aliens. This advancement of [our] technology may take many hundreds of years. {From page 9] 1. (TS/ORCON) PROJECT BANDO: (PROWORD: RISK). Originally established in 1949. Its mission was to collect and evaluate medical information from the surviving Alien creature and the recovered Alien bodies. This project medially examined EBE and provided United States medical researchers with certain answers to the evolution theory. (OPR:CIA) (Terminated in 1974) 2. (TS/ORCON) PROJECT SIGMA: (PROWORD: AQUARIUS). Originally established as part of Project Gleem in 1954. Became a separate project in 1976. It's mission was to establish communication with Aliens. This Project met with positive success when in 1959, the United States established primitive communications with the Aliens. On April 25, 1964, a USAF intelligence officer met two aliens at a pre-arranged location in the desert in New Mexico. The contact lasted for approximately three hours. Based on the Alien's language given to us by EBE, the Air Force officer managed to exchange basic information with the two Aliens (Atch 7). This project is continuing at an Air Force base in New Mexico. (OPR: MJ12/NSA) 3. (TS/ORCON) PROJECT SNOWBIRD: (PROWORD: CETUS). Originally established in 1972. Its mission was to test fly a recovered Alien aircraft. This project is continuing in Nevade. [sic] (OPR:USAF/NASA/CIA/MJ12) 4. (TS/ORCON) PROJECT POUNCE (PROWORD: DIXIE). Originally established in 1968. Its mission was to evaluate all UFO/IAC information pertaining to space technology. PROJECT POUNCE continues. (OPR:NASA/USAF) ---end text copy--- Good says that Moore learned that "ORCON" means "dissemination and Extraction of Information Controlled by Originator," and is used mainly by the CIA, DIA, NSA, and USAF intelligence. "OPR" means "Office of Primary Responsibility," and "prowords" are related to sensitive compartmented information (SCI). No word on other code names or words. Good also draws the conclusion that the document that Moore was shown was probably fake (especially due to numerous misspellings), but may have been based on an actual document shown to Jimmy Carter. Good also notes that the text of the document was first published in its entirety (with misspellings corrected) in UFO Magazine, Vol. 7, No. 1, p. 8-10. As you can see, Glenn, the text posted on Usenet is practically identical to the text Good published, with the exception of the blacked-out parts. My guess is that someone stumbled across the document in UFO magazine (or in Good's book, although he didn't publish the header) and posted parts of it on Usenet. I don't know why certain sensitive words and phrases would have been blacked out, though. Some other thoughts of my own that might be interesting: 1. Why is the word Alien always capitalized? 2. The document says the aliens come from Zeta Reticula. In the movie (and book) "Alien" with Sigourney Weaver, the planet where they first encounter their "alien" is called Zeta II Reticuli. Interesting coincidence... 3. Why is the craft recovered form Utah referred to as an "aircraft" and not a "spacecraft"? 4. Project SNOWBIRD - kinda reminds you of someplace, doesn't it? Anyway, hope this helps. Let me know what else you come up with on this, would you? I'll post this on alt.conspiracy.area51, feel free to post all of this on your WWW page and anywhere else you deem appropriate (but do courtesy Tim Good). By the way, hope you have fun in Hungary! :) You did see the mention of the Area 51-like facility in South Africa on the Skunk Works Digest, didn't you? Maybe that should be your next trip. Hope to hear from you soon! Theran Davis Salt Lake City, Utah davistm@aol.com P.S. I only bought Tim Good's book for the chapters on Area 51, not for all the UFO stuff. Didn't want you to think I was some UFO whacko. :)
