Promises, promises.
She turns 40 next month, I was thinking of trading her in for a newer
model anyway(1). I'll be sure and kick the tires next time.

I just wanted her to acknowledge that she created a hassle for me, I
don't see why this should have been an issue for her.
I may not be an Alan Alda, but I do apologize if my actions cause
another grief. I merely consider that being polite.

The money (chump change, less than $10 I imagine) was just an out for
her to not apologize at all. An abject apology wasn't what I was
asking for, more than a shrug would have been fine. I don't expect
anyone to be perfect or feel guilty for minor fuck ups, but I really
resent having crap delegated to me off the cuff like I'm one of her
employees.

I wouldn't put up with that crap at work(2) and I sure don't want to
come home to it. I don't believe for a nanosecond that anyone at the
Quarnstrom household would either.

(1) I'm 31 and looking at life from a very different perspective than
she is. Not to imply that my perspective is any better than hers.
We most likely would have gone separate paths, but along came the
"Acquired Infant Dependency Syndrome" Kenny once mentioned, that has
pretty much made us refocus our plans. A pleasant surprise BTW.

(2) not much, and not without special circumstance. Performing your
job and completing task as they arise is quite different, than being
handed other people's mistakes and offering no objection.
