Of course, it's now late January, 1996, and the 1995-1996 campus directories have just come out. This is a Peeve. Northwestern University is on the CICNet backbone, and has a pair of high-speed, redundant connections to the rest of the Internet. We get good newsfeed. Accounts on network services machines are available to every student, every staff-person, and every member of the faculty, for free. Personal use is encouraged. Why then, does each of the new campus directories have shrink-wrapped to it an AOL free-trial disk? Mike -- Michael A. Atkinson N9ZCD CAS Dean's Office, Northwestern University
