What about Evil Dead II? Godfather II was pretty good. And are we counting things like "Manon Des Sources" as the sequel to "Jean de Florette", or "O Lucky Man" as the sequel to "If..."? Neither as good as their originals, but both excellent films in their own right. Um ... Powaqqatsi? Not as good as Koyaanisqatsi, but still pretty decent. I'd also nominate "Tetsuo II: The Body Hammer" as a much better film than "Tetsuo: Iron Man". Live action no-budget cyberpunk manga. Very cool. And need I even speak of the two sequels to "A Grand Day Out" ... "The Wrong Trousers" and Whatever-the-one-that-got-this-year's-Oscar-was- called? Truly excellent. Brief sequel-related thing. Hands up who's seen Alien3. Balls, wasn't it? Who's seen "Delicatessen", the bizarre post-apocalypse romantic comedy about cannibalism created by French former-animators Jeunet et Caro? Brilliant, wasn't it?
