We ordered a sub-safe screen door from Sears once. Made it most of the
way through the supply department at NOB NORVA before someone actually
applied clue to the requsition. Of course he was amused, but all the
officers who had already approved the order, and therefore looked like the
limp, inneffectual, useless twits they were, seemed to be upset for some
reason.

The "neutron turbine" did pretty good, too, until someone called our chief
engineer and asked if he knew of a vendor, since they'd spent the last
week looking for one without much success.

I really miss the supply department at Naval Operations Base, Norfolk
Virginia some times. I never appreciated how much recovery they had to
offer until much too late.
