It is different from all other GUI testing products in that synchronization between the GUI application, the GUI tester, and the X11 server is GUARANTEED. This means that GUI tests can be written in days instead of months because complex polling and wait states are not required for synchronization. No other product in the industry can make this claim and QualTrak has filed for a patent on this unique technology. With Xsimultest you may also test multiple GUI applications on the same workstation at the same time. Dedicated workstations are NOT required to run a test. Rather, all GUI testing may be done in the background from any workstation on the network. The system uses the standard X-11 server with NO modifications and does not require your application to be relinked. With Xsimultest you ship the exact binary that you test. The system supports full record, playback, screen save, and screen compare capability. It may be run interactively allowing breakpoints, single step and other debug features or may be run unattended for overnight testing. Xsimultest is also integrated with the QualTrak Distributed Defect Tracking System, DDTs. This means that once problems are found they may be automatically logged into the defect tracker, tracked, assigned to engineers, and resolved. Retesting may also be driven from repaired defects in the defect tracker. Xsimultest is X11 server independent. It supports Xt-based clients for SunOS and Solaris (now), and HP (Nov 1). Support for the OI toolkit will come in late October.
