Axel,

Are you testing the same thing we are testing? I hope you are not using
Autokey version 1, as the crypto library for that version is no longer
available. There have been a number of minor bugfixes, but the Autokey
version 2 code with OpenSSL now in the NTP development version has been
through the grinder and come out whole.

Autokey version 2 is running on most of our machines and those normally
closed to public access are open with signature and identity keys. Send
a no-body message with selected password in the subject field to
mills+crypto@ntp.org. The IFF identity key and shell script will be in
the reply. Assuming standard defaults, all you have to do is build and
install OpenSSL and the NTP distribution and run the script to generate
and install the keys. Try pogo.udel.edu.
