The program you are referring to alows one to change to a different user name and thus change the permanent file id. There have been a varity of versions of this program over the years. Some only worked from system origin jobs, and some would allow usage if the current user had SYOT priviledges. All versions of sun worked as SSJ=/VAL= program which was a mechanism that swapped in specific userlimits and id information in when the program executed. If the program modified these values, upon exit the new values would be swap out in to the control point area. I have all of this stuff on tape, but I no longer have a cyber to read it.
