: I just asked a similar question to Sun Express sales rep when I called
: today. He said that there is a third-party 24-bit PCI video card, named
: "MGX+" which is sold at $595 through Sun Express.

: Also, I think that the card will not replace the graphics chip that
: comes with the system, because it's an on-board controller. So I wonder
: if you can connect 2 monitors like you can with Mac.

: But I failed to ask the manufacturer name, the max resolution (I just
: assumed 1152x900), etc., so if someone can follow up on this and the
: multiple monitor deal, I'd appreciate it.

The MGX+ was first a 24bpp Sbus framebuffer from Southland Media systems.
(www.slmedia.com). It was supposedly very very fast and did 30fps video
at 1024x768 (lots of video acceleration) and had netscape plugins and such
for QT and AVI viewers. (xilanim i think was what the program was called).

If they have infact made a PCI version of the board, i imagine it would be
extremely fast as well. www.slmedia.com would tell you
