Yes! OpenGL games on Sun Ultras! I usually surf the web looking for
compilable games under Solaris Sparcs...! The cross-platforms SDL
libraries (http://libsdl.org) have helped alot, because many games that
use these libraries R compilable...

E.g. tuxracer - opengl
      abuse-sdl - the pc/mac game
      alephone-sdl - remember marathon2 on macs & pcs?
      critical mass - opengl
      prboom - improved doom engine
      quake2 - do I need to say more? =)
      etc, etc...!

You can find these games (in source code) at http://freshmeat.net

My experience is that for OpenGL games, reducing the resolution of a
Creator3d to 1280x1024 (or less) gives ok performance, and the
Elite3d/m3 is around 40% - 70% faster...but because I haven't kept up
with the latest pc hardware, I was wondering if we could roughly compare
the current breed of Sun frame buffers with the pcs'...

 From experience, for most 3D games, the pgx32, pgx64 won't cut it...but
most 2D games running on XMAME are ok on those cards, as long as you
have a fairly decent machine to play them on... (UltraSparc I 200mhz,
and above)...

Cheers!

Georgie
