I was considering purchasing one of these myself, but I couldn't find a spec sheet online, so I called Tadpole - AFAIK, these are the only manufacturers of the SPARCbook 1 and 2 (I could be wrong). They told me to stay away from this machine - here's the rundown: * The SPARCbooks 1 and 2 are not Y2K compliant - I don't have the specifics on this. * can't run stock SunOS - you need to buy 4.1.3 from Tadpole ($75) * Solaris 2.3 is the highest version of Solaris it will run, and you need to get a special version from tadpole, except they don't think they stock it any more. * it is not supported by Tadpole. They suggested that I look into a SPARCbook 3, but nothing lower than that. I was kind of disappointed by this info, but I'm glad I know it. The tech support number is +1 800-232-1881. I found them helpful and informative. Corrections to this info are welcome! -- Brian Jepson * (bjepson@ids.net) * http://users.ids.net/~bjepson Choosy mothers choose to chew Chew-Z
