(not sure, but its cheeper than UK price)

Very, very easy if you use Garmins update dikette, quite easy if you
hack the database with appropriate software and update it yourself. In
the UK the update diskettes cost about 70 UKP. I leave it up to you to
determine if that is expensive.

It still doesn't fly the plane for you

Garmins customer service appears to be excellent, try asking the same
question in sci.geo.sattelite-nav

It will display your lat-long, and show your position on a simple map
display. If you know where you want to go either as a lat long, or a pre-
defined waypoint or known aviation feature (VOR NDB etc.) then it
will take you there.

I love my little G90, and still play with it even when I am not flying ( but
then some people might think I need to get a life ).

The G90 is an exceptional unit in its price bracket and you will not go
far wrong with it.
