Seems like a good price to me, I was hoping they were still worth more since I was thinking of selling mine to get the new Garmin LOL! > - How difficult / expensive is the database upgrade? It's $90-100 or so for the database update but I wouldn't worry if it's out of date. Aiports don't move very often and the majority of changes are simply frequency changes that are on the sectional you're required to carry anyway. Mine is two years out of date and it doesn't concern me at all since it's not useable for IFR anyway. > - What features does it have / not have? It doesn't show cities, lakes, roads, or coastlines like the new ones do but it shows everything you need to get where you want to go. It does show all of the SUA airpaces! Overall, it's got most every bell and whistle you'd want. > - How's Garmin's service if I have a problem? As good as it gets, but the GPS 90 is pretty bulletproof. I believe it is $75.00 for the update coupon. It does everything I would require as an aviation GPS with all of the bells and whistles less depiction of lakes, highways and towns on the moving map. It does provide you with all VORs, NDBs, Intersections, Special Use Airspace, User Waypoints, airport information including frequencies, runway and fuel information. After playing with many different GPSs, in my opinion, I believe that the Garmin unit is the most friendly and easiest unit to use. I believe you can't go wrong with this purchase. By the way, I love my GPS90 I have had it for several years and had zero problems with it. The Garmin unit probably has one of the best antenna and lowest current demand (long battery life) of any GPS unit. I also purchase the Lowe active antenna and I highly recommend it. I use the Lowe antenna when I drive a car to get distances for my line of work.
