I have posted a design for a high performance, manual DGPS receiver. The infomation can be found at http://web.abnormal.com/dgps/bix/ I want to thank Tim Hogard, who volunteered to provide a website for the design. This receiver should be buildable for around $100, and all of the parts are available from Digikey or Newark. The most expensive parts are a 16x2 backlit LCD display and the coils -- together these amount to about half of the cost. The project is not for the inexperienced -- it is 9 ICs including a PIC 16F84 processor and is handwired, as there is no PC board design. But it should perform as well or better than anything available. If you build this receiver for yourself, I would be interested in hearing about your results. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Bixby, Vice President, Business Development Phone:(619) 535-3303 Rockwell Semiconductor Systems Fax: (619) 452-6265 9868 Scranton Road, San Diego, CA 92121-3707 email:bix@brooktree.com
