This is probably true - but still you have to have a source for local
ionospheric correction data.
The WAAS system collects this data anyway - so why not use the full WAAS system
instead of picking out single structural aspects.
I mean, basically WAAS costs nothing on the receiver side, compared with
previous DGPS systems.
